What it means
The road gets narrower on both sides, so two vehicles may not fit side by side at speed.
What to do
Slow down and be ready to give way to oncoming traffic. Don't try to overtake where the road gets narrow.
How to read warning signs
Warning signs are red-bordered triangles pointing up. They don't order you to do anything: they tell you what's coming so you can slow down and get ready.
More warning signs
- Road narrows from right
- Road narrows from left
- River bank or quayside
- Uneven road surface ahead
- Severe bump ahead
- Severe dip ahead
