What it means
The road runs beside or ends at water, such as a river bank or quay. There may be little or nothing to stop a vehicle at the edge.
What to do
Slow right down and don't park close to the edge. The road may end suddenly at a bank or the water.
How to read warning signs
Warning signs are red-bordered triangles pointing up. They don't order you to do anything: they tell you what's coming so you can slow down and get ready.
More warning signs
- Uneven road surface ahead
- Severe bump ahead
- Severe dip ahead
- River bend crossing (drift) ahead
- Slippery road
- Loose surface road
