What it means
Gravel, murram or loose chippings cover the road. Your tyres grip less, and other vehicles can throw stones up at you.
What to do
Slow down, because loose gravel can make you skid. Leave a bigger gap so stones thrown up don't cause damage.
How to read warning signs
Warning signs are red-bordered triangles pointing up. They don't order you to do anything: they tell you what's coming so you can slow down and get ready.
More warning signs
- Danger of falling and fallen rocks ahead
- Pedestrian crossing
- Children crossing ahead
- Cyclists
- Cattle crossing ahead
- Wild animals
