What it means
A sudden drop in the road surface. A dip can hide an oncoming or stopped vehicle until you're nearly on top of it.
What to do
Slow down. Taken too fast, your vehicle can hit the ground or leave it altogether. Water may also collect in the dip.
How to read warning signs
Warning signs are red-bordered triangles pointing up. They don't order you to do anything: they tell you what's coming so you can slow down and get ready.
More warning signs
- River bend crossing (drift) ahead
- Slippery road
- Loose surface road
- Danger of falling and fallen rocks ahead
- Pedestrian crossing
- Children crossing ahead
