What it means
Traffic lights are coming up, possibly round a bend or over a crest where you can't see them yet.
What to do
Slow down, and get ready to stop and obey the lights. Don't speed up to beat them.
How to read warning signs
Warning signs are red-bordered triangles pointing up. They don't order you to do anything: they tell you what's coming so you can slow down and get ready.
More warning signs
- Low-flying aircraft crossing ahead
- Two-way traffic ahead
- Hazard ahead
- Road junction ahead
- Junction ahead: stop or give way
- Junction ahead with road entering from right
