What it means
The road crosses a railway with no barrier to stop you. Only your own eyes and ears will tell you a train is coming.
What to do
Slow down, look both ways and listen for trains before you cross. Never try to beat a train to the crossing.
How to read warning signs
Warning signs are red-bordered triangles pointing up. They don't order you to do anything: they tell you what's coming so you can slow down and get ready.
More warning signs
- Bend left
- Bend right
- Successive bends to the left
- Successive bends to the right
- Steep descent ahead
- Steep ascent ahead
