What it means
The road ahead curves to the left. You often can't see what's coming until you're already in the bend, so slow down before it, not during it.
What to do
Ease off and steer gently left. Stay left of the centre of the road, and expect oncoming vehicles to cut the corner.
How to read warning signs
Warning signs are red-bordered triangles pointing up. They don't order you to do anything: they tell you what's coming so you can slow down and get ready.
More warning signs
- Bend right
- Successive bends to the left
- Successive bends to the right
- Steep descent ahead
- Steep ascent ahead
- Road narrows ahead
