What it means
The reverse of a speed limit: the number is the lowest speed you may drive at, not the highest. It keeps very slow vehicles from holding up fast traffic.
What to do
You must drive at the speed shown or faster. Going slower is not allowed. You'll mostly see this on highways and expressways.
How to read mandatory signs
Mandatory signs are blue circles, and they tell you what you must do. If you see a blue disc, it's an order rather than a suggestion.
More mandatory signs
- End of compulsory minimum speed
- Direction to be followed
- Vehicles travel straight
- Vehicles turn right junction
- Vehicles travel straight or right
- Pass to the left
